Description
What is the Antelao?
The Antelaos are the ideal balance between weight, grippy tread and stability – all wrapped up in a modern, wide fitting suede design. Perfect for long days walking in the mountains.
What is the Antelao made of?
Upper:The uppers are a mix of suede and mesh to maximize breathability and durability. To avoid complications with potential warranty claims, we recommend the use of Meindl care products with Meindl footwear. This also prolongs their life and keeps them working at their best. You can find themhere.
Membrane:This reliable material is then backed up by a breathable Gore-Tex lining to guarantee dry feet. As long as the leather is treated and you are wearing the right socks, the Gore-Tex membrane allows water vapour (i.e. sweat) to pass through it whilst keeping water droplets (i.e. from puddles, bogs and rain) out. This ensures your feet are kept dry and comfortable no matter what conditions you chose to take them out in.
Footbed:The Antelaos have a cork footbed in them – this footbed is made up of several layers. Theanatomically shaped cork footbed has a Poron shock absorber integrated into the heal area. The soft fleece upper of the footbeds helps with moisture management and keeps your feet comfortable all day long.
Sole:The Sole in the Antelaos are Meindl Multigrip 3 by Vibram – this sole is a super tacky rubber that has lots of different shaped and sized lugs that help to get traction on a wide variety of terrains – wet or dry. The sole also has an EVA shock absorber to help protect your muscles and your joints on long, hilly walks.
How do the Antelaos fit?
The Antelaos use Meindls own Comfort Fit last – this last has more space at the front of the foot around the toes and the balls of your feet, whilst still having a secure fit on the heel. This last will fit up to a G width very comfortably. Getting footwear sizing right online can be tricky, so we recommend giving ourFootwear Sizing Guide (found below in the Care and Advice section) a quick read.
Meindl Boot Care
The most important thing you can do for your boots is to look after them. After your walk, remove the footbeds to air and remove loose dirt and grit from inside the boot. To improve the odour and breathability of your boots, rinse them inside with lukewarm water occasionally. Clean the outside of the boot under cold running water using a brush.
Leather and Nubuck footwear benefit from regular waxing. Apply Meindl Sportwax with a sponge.
